Story Behind The Song
This was written as lyrics and a melody in my head during tears I cried after watching Schindler's List on TV for the first time. After trying to rock it out like Judas Priest and acoustic it up like Woody Guthrie, we finally developed a production that feels right.
Song Description
The song flashes back to the Civil War, WWII, and the Vietnam War and points to the atrocities power and money encourage with the use of racism and sexism.

Lyrics
Pushing bodies through the black night box car
poisoned by the sun their eyes can not see
Hiding in the walls in no one's home
children flee to places they will never reach
Fear is the family's feast
The fireplace the family's home
Images flooding through my mind
spilling through my body
Ashes paint the sky
once was life
and I
just don't know why
So hard to conceive
these nightmares once were real
the weak have the power
but the strong will survive
choking on dust under daddy's hanging feet
chair falls to the ground
little boy plays with
a fallen white hood
his tears seep through the ground
blood is the soil
once was life
and I don't know why
I just don't why
Cocked gun in a woman's womb
as mother watches her blood stain the street
babies forever by the water side
hope swims away with the stream
Pushing bodies through the black night box car
poisoned by the sun their eyes can not see
Hiding in the walls from no one's home
children flee to places they will never reach
Ashes paint the sky
once was life
and I
just don't know why
