Story Behind The Song
This song was written after the first audition when I decided that I wanted to become a professional singer. I was judged by an entire panel who agreed that I had the best voice they had heard that day. However, I didn't have the look they wanted. The said, "We are looking for someone who we can eventually put on commercials, and well...." I thought, I may not be the picture of what the society portrays as beautiful, but in my own way, I am beautiful. From these feelings, the lyrics of the song, "Black Beauty" were born.
Song Description
This song pinpoints features that black women are typically known to possess, features which black women are often ashamed of because of the negative light in which they are portraid. The song speaks about the fact that these features make the black woman a "black beauty", and this is something to be proud about.

Lyrics
Black Beauty
Vs.1
Girl have you been told you aint beautiful cause of your big hips,
Or you're ugly cause of your thick lips,
You've got a wide nose, Don't let them fool you girl cause you're a beauty, from your head down to your toes.
Chorus
Black Beauty, Oh Girl, You're precious in this world,
Never let anyone take your pride from you.
Vs 2
If your a size 18 or a size 2, doesn't matter, All that matter's God created you, You should be proud of all that you are, You're a black woman, That's all it takes to make you a star.
Chorus.
Bridge
Oh you got a strong mind, dont be scared to use it, Use it all the time, Please dont be quiet if they say you're too outspoken, when you're speaking what's right.
Chorus
