Story Behind The Song

Someone told me a story of a man who had cheated on his wife. As a result she left him with full custody of her children. As a result he had sought therapy and was actually suicidal over this terrible loss in his life. This seemed like a good subject to address in a song which could reflect on the doom and gloom present in this kind of situation while offering a sobering reflection on the consequence of our actions.

So Far Gone is about infedelity in a relationship, the temptation and the impending disaster and human suffering that results from giving into such temptation.
