NIGHTMARE

Story Behind The Song

Inspired by someone I used to work with.

Song Description

Guitar based rock/country rock. Not a new song but a remix I've been planning for some time. I've attempted to give it a more 'live' sound, and added some extra lead guitar and harmonies.

Song Length 3:30 Genre Country - Rock, Rock - General

Lyrics

Nightmare (Words and music by Alan Gillis)

Verse 1
I dreamt I was on fire and you were pouring oil
I dreamt that I was drowning and you didn't care at all
You only stood there laughing
Sticking pins in little dolls
Playing with your bag of bones and
Screaming witchy calls

Chorus
You give me Nightmares
Afraid to go sleep
Keep getting Nightmares
I know your creeping round my door
Don't put out the light
Keep out the night
Keep out the nightmare
Nightmare!

Verse 2
Looks like you're trying to break me up and leave bits everywhere
To say you don't love me's the understatement of the year
You're trying to destroy me
Without a reason why
You're haunting me both day and night and
Night and day I die

Repeat chorus

Bridge
Don't burn me up - don't burn me up
Nightmare
Don't let me drown - don't let me drown

Don't build me up - don't build me up
Nightmare
Don't put me down - don't put me down

Nightmare nightmare
