Brandi Says

Story Behind The Song

This was a valentine's day present to my step-daughter who was then 11 years old.

Song Description

Brandi is an extraordinary 11-year old girl. I'm amazed by her and I sing her praises in this song. Funnily enough, she doesn't seem to have that same respect for me, as I describe in the lyrics. But I know she loves me even though she doesn't say so.

Song Length 4:09 Genre Pop - General, Pop - Alternative
Tempo Medium Fast (131 - 150) Lead Vocal Male Vocal
Mood Cheerful, Sociable Subject Daughter, Love for Child

Lyrics

Brandi Says

Brandi says "everything is art"
Brandi says "no" before she goes ahead
Brandi says everything in my generation is about sex and everything in ì
her generation is about infidelity

Brandi says "Adam, you're so dumb"
She doesn't really know how close she is
Brandi doesn't know why she knows, and she doesn't care why she doesn't ì
know.

Brandi takes another pull on her straw
She says, "What are we put on this earth for?"
Brandi says, "You can't talk to some people."

CHORUS
She says,
"Whatever." "I don't care." "Shut up and go away."
But that's all right. I don't mind. I'm reading in between the lines.
I'm trying to understand what Brandi says.
Brandi says.

Brandi says only what she thinks.
Brandi has plans to live in Canada.
Brandi takes thirty bad pictures of herself and one good one of a cat
and a rose.

Brandi has visions in her head
Brandi makes miracles from magazines.
Brandi gives gifts and sings songs and has opinions about Picasso

Brandi says "You're a pervert."
She says, "All guys become perverts."
Brandi knows, but she won't always tell you.

CHORUS

Brandi is mysterious and obvious
Brandi loves and hates you simultaneously. I know this.
Cause I heard Brandi talking when she thought I wasn't listening.
I had a dream and in my dream, Brandi said

"I love you." "I need you." "Don't ever let me go." Well,
That's all right. I don't mind. I'm reading in between the lines.
I'm trying to understand what Brandi says.
Brandi says.
