Story Behind The Song
I was in Times Square on new year's eve with friends. After we watched the ball drop, I suggested that we wander around to experience the continuing celebration. This one good friend of mine declined saying he would watch it in his hotel room on T.V. It struck me as odd since we were actually there and could experience it first hand. So I thought of this solitary person watching, and using T.V. as the surrogate for the real event. I thought that this was most likely the way many other people we're experiencing it as well.

Lyrics
One for all, all for one, isn't this fun
Saw the show, now we know, how it was done
We were there, in the square, thousands as one
Hearts they race, we embrace, new year's begun
It's begun, now we'll run, and we'll dance, until dawn
What a chase, to keep pace, with everyone
In your room, on T.V., see how it's done
What a show, see them go, thousands as one
From your chair, see them there, see how it's done
It's begun (and it's easy to see)
now we'll run (it's a party for me)
and we'll dance (but now how can this be)
until dawn (when there's nobody here but me)
It's a surrogate celebration
seen in homes across the nation
watch it live with moderation
thanks to mass communication
