Story Behind The Song
A song about power. Specifically how power needs enablers, and how they act around it.
The seeds of this song were sewn by my former bosses. But I wrote it years later, after watching the Company Men enablers of current events. The parallels were uncanny, and this song sprang out.
I hope you enjoy it! And maybe in some small way it might inspire some courage in someone.
This one was fun to make. Crank it up! Thank you! Mike

Lyrics
Had a good job making decent dough
'till I told the boss he had no clothes
The boss said "Boys, off with his head"
A cock crowed as I took their blows
'Cause Company Men start acting funny
When they get around power and money
They talk mighty morals in their big backyards
Boss make 'em fold like a house of cards
If you see something say something
See something say something
If you see something say something
Well I've got something to say...
All the king's horses and all the king's men
They just fall in line
King's come and go but there'll be Company Men
'till the end of time
'till the end of time
The years rolled on, I tried to let it go
I kept from bosses and kings, and company bros
'till I saw a king on the TV
Robbing the whole country
I recognized the guys by his side
Laughing at crassness, acting blind
Smiling in silence, and nodding their heads
"Sir, yes sir", a bunch of Company Men
If you see something say something
See something say something
If you see something say something
Well I've got something to say...
All the king's horses and all the king's men
They just fall in line
King's come and go but there'll be Company Men
'till the end of time
'till the end of time
They sure do a job
They did one on me
They do it to the country
On the TV
If you're under the thumb
Of just one man
It's 'cause the applause
Of Company Men
If you want a big house and a second one too
Keep your head down when the king comes through
You got your fancy watch, but I know the time
For thirty pieces of silver
You'd sell your soul and mine
'cause Company Men start acting funny
When they get around power and money
They talk mighty morals in their big backyards
Boss make 'em fold like a house of cards
If you see something say something
See something say something
If you see something say something
Well I've got something to say...
