Lyrics
I knew not what it was; I could not name
The instinct that I followed at the time.
Protesting and denying though I came,
Something inside me stretched for the long climb
To the green mountain top we two had leased.
Yet where my weakness lay, there were you strong.
That frightened me! I cried to be released.
And tried to run downhill and held my song.
Personal and unsuited to duet
Unwilling loved you and unwilling stayed
On that mountain peak we two are met!
It's strange to know that once I was afraid;
Nothing is left of me that can withstand
This quiet love.
We stand here hand in hand.
