Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song as the deed to our home was being negotiated with the bank after construction was completed. Building a home is a surreal experience, full of risk, hopes and delights as well as lessons learned.
Song Description
Projects of one person can sometimes bring a couple together or tear them apart. Building a house with all the choices, the mishaps in budget and performance, cause a lot of opportunities to grow in love. This is a prayer of dedication near the end of the process.

Lyrics
Locked in verbiage, gambling how to pray...
anxious at what I would need to say...
insecure, I wrote it down,
acted out what I thot I'd found.
All mixed up with shadows of a dream,
drew it out to see if you were pleased,
all I knew about you,
all I am, it's time to prove.
Chorus: Now I see how much I can say in a choice I make, in a small handshake...
Deedlee deedlee dee, Deedlee deedlee dee
Steely nerve, the arrow of my prayer,
deep inside is the eye that brought me here.
Built this house, this deed, my home,
shared the love, but it's yours alone.
Chorus: Now I see how much I can say in a choice I make, in a small handshake...
Deedlee deedlee dee, Deedlee deedlee dee
Here's my light and here's my deed,
here's my prayer, you'll live with me.
