Story Behind The Song

First written and recorded a decade or so ago, I recently decided to re-record a new, jazzier take. I used the studio pros at Musiversal - that's Marta Garrett singing - what a beautiful voice (my daughter said she sounds like Christmas, and I agree!) The jazzy group brings a classic warmth to lyrics that evoke the same. This song brings life to the joy of Christmas shared with a loving spouse and young children, in an idyllic setting. I hope it brings a smile to your face and a glow to your soul. I can feel the fireplace, and see the snowflakes drifting down on the pines outside. Merry Christmas.

Imagine a snowy Christmas evening at home with your children and your loving spouse, enjoying a crackling fireplace and the joy and warmth of family. Can't you just feel it, and smell those cookies in the oven? Stockings are hung, Christmas songs have been sung, and soon all the kids will be tucked snug in their beds. Mom and Dad finally have some quality time while the kids dream of new Christmas toys. Santa and his reindeer are expected before the special night turns to a sweet and joyful Christmas morning.
