Stay Around

Story Behind The Song

I met this sexy, soulful singing man who somehow felt as attracted to me as I was to him. We were together for ten years, with music being our mutual passion (well, one of them). Soon after we met, he wrote this song (one of only a couple he ever wrote). As I was putting together my musical memoirs, I invited him to sing this and we included our daughter, Emily, in the performance. Doesn't he have the sexiest, soulful-est voice?

Lyrics

Stay Around

V1: When will I be home?
When will I have the right to know which way to go?
I've been a roaming soul too long
When will I see my lady?
Can I get through to you and show the kind of peace of mind
I want to share with you?

Chorus: We'll hear the sound of angels' voices
Singing songs of holy ground
We'll see the seashore and the mountains
Open the door and stay around

V2: I guess I'll stay in town forever
I want to do for you the kind of things you want me to
I've been a roaming soul too long

Chorus:
