Song Description

Someone who is too full of themselves gets a talking to. Arrogance and faked discust with the way things are playing this guy's song and some girl calls him on it.

Story Behind the Song

Egads! We all wished we had said this to some pompus wanna-be at some time. Only a few have the gonads to really say anything. Hurray for the few!

Angry Young Man
won?t you show a little kindness
and spare a little time.
We all know the cost of being free.

You?re racing through your life
and never once believing
you were anything but right.
And using that as an excuse for your cold heart.

Now you?re laughing in the face of disappointment
and disregarding any help offered from someone else.
You say you?re waiting for your royal appointment.
I think it?s more you?ve lost control of yourself.

Standing all alone
and quickly pointing out
that you made it on your own.
As if that?s proof of your great strength.

Defining words like love
as pretty, petty games
that you?ve put yourself above
Why, I heard you quit believing in God
because you were too damn proud to pray.

Well, laugh on in the face of disappointment.
Go ahead and be at war with the world,
if that?s what you like.
We all look much better after our royal appointments
but some of us just feel better after the fight.

That's right some of us just feel better after the fight.

Angry Young Man

I have been a bit remiss with my Broadjam account in loading the videos from East Farewell in a timly manner, but I will catch up in the next week or so. This is fifth tune from East Farewell, Angry Young Man. Coreen sings this one. The story of the song is; Bernie Tabor, local hero and returning Korean War vet (remember, the story takes place in the 50's & 60's) is obviously suffering from what we now call PSTD and is having trouble with relationships, his girl, Sue, wants him to shape up. She doesn't understand his problem but no one did back then. Coreen does a great job, give it a listen. Enjoy
