Funky groove and (I really liked this) spare textures - plenty of space and air. Things implied musically rather than hammered home. Adds to the emotion. Strong lived-in voice. Impressive guitar work. Great vibe all round - suits the sombre storyline.

    - James Neilson Graham

Yeah, sweet intro. Vocal is sweet. Nice use of sounds creating the rhythm track. Vocals are superb, especially the bridge. Loved the harmonies. The guitar playing and tone is exceptional! I liked the fade, it was a bit long but the curve felt very good and with the sweet guitar it DID make me want to hear more!

Lyrics

I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW Copyright - Earl.C.Webb

THERE WAS A BIG BLACK SKY
I SAID, BECKY, IT LOOKS LIKE RAIN AGAIN TODAY
SHE SAID, THE RIVERS GOING TO BREAK APART
AND WASH EVERYTHING WE GOT AWAY
AND IF IT WASN'T FOR THE WEATHER
AND THE CHOICES THAT I MADE
I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW, I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW

OH IT WASHED AWAY THE HOUSE WE'D BUILT
AND TOOK EVERYTHING WE HAD
BUT MY PRIDE WOULDN'T LET ME ACCEPT NO HELP
SO I'M AFRAID I STARTED DRINKING BAD
AND IF I STILL HAD THE MONEY
AND I HADN'T LOST THE FARM
I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW, I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW

M/8
ALL MY POSSESSIONS MEAN NOTHING TO ME
BUT THERE'S A HOLE IN MY LIFE WHERE SHE USED TO BE

BREAK

OH I CAN'T BLAME THE WEATHER
CAUSE IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY PRIDE
I'D STILL HAVE MY DREAMS
AND MY BECKY BY MY SIDE
I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW, I'D BE A RICH MAN NOW...
