Woman from the Sea


Had a need to change my mind
Leave the world far behind
Decided on a camping trip
Packed my sack and that was it

Thought I'd try something new
Decided on an ocean view
On the coast I found a place
Set up camp near the waves

One day I sat upon the shore
Saw something I'd never seen before
A woman rising from the sea
Her hair was gold, she sang to me

Won't you come along she said
And lay upon my soft sea bed
Live in turquoise luxury
Play among the coral reefs

Her voice was pulling at my ear
Like a dream I'd longed to hear
But then she vanished in the foam
Leaving me there all alone

Well I got up and I ran down
Didn't know if I would drown
I leapt in and suddenly
I felt her arms closing on me

At first it was hard to believe
but in the water I could breathe
I found out as down I went
It was my natural element

We swim the seas now hand in hand
Staying far away from land
I find that's something I don't miss
Besides my best friends now are fish

She sings her mermaid melody
In caverns far beneath the sea
And as we gaze upon the stars
We hold each other in our arms
