Lyrics

I REMEMBER THE NEW PLACE
BY: Thomas Formanek

V1) YOU TOOK A RIDE OUT ON ROUTE 31
WITH A CARLOAD OF FRIENDS
YOU TURNED IN BY THAT OLD FARM HOUSE
AND DROVE YOUR CAR 'ROUND THE BENDS

V2) YOU HEARD THE BEAT OF THE MUSIC
WHILE YOU WERE STILL IN THE CAR
YOU COULDN'T WAIT TO GET IN THERE
TO HEAR THE SOUND OF GUITARS

CH) I REMEMBER THE NEW PLACE
I REMEMBER THE STAGE LIGHTS
I REMEMBER THAT THE BANDS THAT THEY HAD BACK THEN
COULD MAKE YOU DANCE ALL NIGHT

(SOLO)

V3) SOME REALLY BIG NAME BANDS WOULD PERFORM
THEY'D ALWAYS PUT ON A SHOW
THE BEST BANDS AROUND CHICAGO WOULD PLAY
WITH ALL THEIR FANS IN TOW

V4) BUT IF YOU TRY TO GO BACK THERE TODAY
THAT BARN IS NOT TO BE FOUND
I GUESS THE NEW PLACE JUST GOT TOO HOT
ONE DAY IT BURNED TO THE GROUND

(CHORUS 2X)

DANCE, DANCE, - ALL NIGHT
DANCE, DANCE, - ALL NIGHT
DANCE, DANCE, - ALL NIGHT
