Story Behind The Song
I had a songwriting appt. at 6PM with Jodi. We visited and complained about how things are compared to how they used to be. At 11 pm we had written off the appt. as just social time. i had to unpack my guitar when this song started forming.

Lyrics
Two Houses Down
Hannon/Nichols
Sometimes my neighbor to the left is outside smoking cigarettes
When I go out to mow my lawn
And those people to my right sometimes fight 'til late at night
And don't ask me who lives two houses down
Pre-Chorus:
What happened to those days when I was just a kid?
Everyone knew everything that everybody did
Chorus:
We all grew up together and everything seemed better
When I knew everyone for miles around
Now I can't even tell you who lives two houses down
When those maples lost their leaves, we raked all day for free ice cream
And roamed the block 'till supper came around
If the world was like that now, be a whole lot less to figure out
Like who is living two houses down
Pre-Chorus:
Chorus:
Bridge:
After Church, We'd go to Grandma's place
Grampa told us stories 'bout the good ol' days
Chorus: (He said)
We all grew up together and everything seemed better
When I knew everyone for miles around
Now I can't even tell you who lives two BLOCKS down
