Story Behind The Song
So bored with all the 4/4 that modern tech encourages us to make and I had this riff rattling in my brain for several years. Thus decided to make it into something. Originally this used a shawm with the Eastern feel but this was becoming too bright over the percussion so opted to use a Mellotron and the warmer tone for the lead. Probably relating to the famous Mission Impossible theme, this started to evolve with a TV theme show feel and my wife invented the titular character. Needed some tension in the middle for the imagined action scene against the opening credits so introduce subtle poly-rythm but them come back with a modal shift to hold the interest. Finally revert back to the original mode for the end.
Song Description
Basically 5/4 piece with a subtle poly-rhythm middle section before returning to the main theme with a modal shift and then restating the main them in the original mode. Mellotron used for the main melody.
