I was born in Columbus, GA. At
twelve I moved to Lithonia, GA, outside of Atlanta.

I graduated from Lithonia, GA high school.

In 1970 I graduated from Georgia State University with a major in Sociology, minors in Journalism and History.

I wrote many songs in my spare time
during these endeavors. I got about 25 cuts in the 70's on such labels as John Denny had at Cedarwood, Gene Kennedy's Doornob
Records, Compass and other labels while I still worked in the U.S. Postal Service. In the "eighties"
and "nineties" I came up with about
75 cuts including major artist cuts
by Vern Gosdin and Keith Whitley and numerous lesser luminaries and indies.

In the "nineties" I worked for Buddy Killen Enterprises, Stoney Lonesome Music and provided songs for a number of major publishing companies. Meanwhile,

I won "Songwriter of the Year" at the Georgia Music Festival competion twice. On two other occasions I won "Songwriter of the
Year" from less important organizations in Atlanta. I had a
cut on Keith Whitley's album that became number two on the Billboard Chart and also the album was nominated for CMA and Music City News Album of the Year.

Currently, I believe I'm writing better than ever.
