Richard Bates taught himself how to play the guitar while growing up on the red dirt roads of East Texas. He began writing and performing music at an early age influenced by favorites such as Jerry Jeff Walker, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. The style that was created is a great mix of Americana and good old-fashioned country that gives Richard's songs a fun, upbeat flare.
