Nic Meredith is an eclectic, versatile, independent singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist . He grew up around London, writing and playing since he was 17.

In the late 80’s, he moved to the edge of the World Heritage wilderness of Tasmania, Australia.
He's received critical acclaim locally and overseas. The music crosses genre, from r n'b to pop to funk to blues to acoustic to contemporary adult, with a strong emphasis on rhythm, harmonies and melody, combined with intelligent thoughtful lyrics. Nic is a prolific and very talented writer with a back catalogue of some 200 songs, with broad appeal. Nic is pursuing a multimedia web-based strategy including webcasting and (shortly) video streaming.

Background Information

Nic has lived in Tasmania, Australia for the last 17 years, the last 7 next door to World Heritage Wilderness in the Huon Valley, south of Hobart.

He has been playing guitar and writing songs for over twenty years, spending his teens and early twenties playing in various incarnations of bands in around London and the South of France. Following immigrating to Tasmania with his Tasmanian wife in the late 1980’s, Nic became heavily involved in social change issues such as 3rd World Debt, working with Oxfam/Community Aid Abroad.

When music inevitably reasserted itself in the early 90’s, his passion for a more humane world underscored much of his songwriting, and is often reflected in his lyrics.

Nic’s music ranges across genre from Rn’B to Reggae to Ballad to Bluegrass and beyond, and is characterised by strong rhythmic foundations, melody and harmonies. The lyrics are intelligent, emotive and honest as he writes essentially from the personal to convey the universal.

To date, Nic has written around 200 compositions and more are always in the works.

His third album and first CD, ‘Lost in the Rhythm’ was released at the end of 2000 and has been very well received by critics (see ‘Reviews’) both at home and abroad.
