Mr. Shut'Em Down

Orlando Curlett, better known abroad as Mr. Shut’Em Down, is a native of St. Louis. He began rapping at the tender age of 12. When he touched the mic and began to flow, he knew that his words had the power to touch anyone they came in contact with.
He began his career as a member of the St. Louis group Ballaz Incorporated, under Show Me Entertainment.
Shut’em has performed in many successful shows; opening for such comedic come ups as Lavell Crawford, Kenny Howell & Mista McGriff, he has also performed with national recording acts including: Outkast, Too Short, Tela, Twista, Richie Rich, and a host of others. In 2003, Shut’Em hosted alongside Ms. Funy, of The Search For The Funniest Mom In America 2, in Ms. Funy’s Big Showcase, which aired on UPN.
Around the St. Louis area, Shut’em has become a local legend; setting it off in The Spot, The Limelight, St. Louis Nites, The Palace, Saints, The Ambassador, Club Buller, The Galaxy, and too many others to name.
In 2005 Shut’Em Down separated from BINC and created a solo album entitled I Ain’t Scared of None of Ya’ll. Independently the album has sold over 3,000 copies.
2006 has brought the year of the Web for Shut’Em Down. Soundclick.com, Myspace.com, & Garageband.com have been key in getting the word out internationally. Soundclick.com has seen every Shut’Em Down song on its chart reach at least #500 or more in its charts, in a field of 40,000 or more; & Garageband.com has featured 4 Shut’Em Down tracks in it’s track of the day spot. He also holds 3 places in their online contest, and his collaboration with Live-N-Direct entitled St. Louis (Where You From), is in it’s third round of very stiff competition.
Currently you can find Shut’Em Down a.k.a. DaDealerMan, out and about promoting his new “mixtape”, entitled DaDealerMan Mixtape , filming his DVD entitled Introduction 2 Da Bizness , and running his company, DaDealerMan, Inc.
