Broken October came to life in the fall of 2002 in the east bay of San Francisco. With two EPs in circulation and an LP on the way the crowd of people surrounding them grows larger everyday. Their second EP (Do it Even if it Kills You) was named one of Modern Fix Magazine’s top five albums of 2003. Their latest release (Good Evening Disaster) will be released in early 2005. While recording Good Evening Disaster, Broken October was featured in Game Star Magazine, which their upcoming single “Just Like That” to be included on a sampler disc. These guys are bringing the indie DIY attitude back to a struggling indie scene and breathing life back into a sound that has been lost since Jawbreaker. The vocals, guitar and bass bounce off each other with subtle urgencies while the addicting keyboard lines, breathy synth and tight drumming set up the foundation. Modern Fix called Broken October “The best unknown band ever.” They won’t be unknown for long.
