"Originally from Atlanta, Garr settled in the Chapel Hill, NC five years ago after kicking around California and the Southwest in pursuit of his muse. His crisp tenor surfs gentle acoustic folk and is tastefully understated, avoiding the confessional breast-beating offered by less accomplished singer/songwriters." --Chris Parker - The Independent Weekly, NC

Alan Garr – " How is it possible that this guy isn't getting mainstream, national airplay? These songs have a great sound--a folk-pop sensibility that draws you in and makes it easy to just skim the surface. Of course, this CD can stand up to more scrutiny than disposable pop songs, and attentive listeners will be rewarded with tight lyrics, poignant stories, rich imagery, and tunes that get under the skin. These are not happy tunes, but if the dark subject matter gets you down, you can always float along on Garr’s lush voice for a while."

Alan Garr ? ?Trespass Against Us?? As the first few chords hummed into my ears from Alan Garr?s solo CD, I was instantly taken back by this outstanding singer/songwriter. His music is a heartfelt array of folk music, filled familiar topics such as love, heartache and tragedy. He sets you at peace with his triumph of songs, charming vocals and sensational lyrics. Proceed with caution and step lightly, Alan is going to lure you into his musical harmony.

glad he's gone solo; what a great voice
Reviewer: Malinda McDonald
This is one of the best, although too short cd's, I've heard in a long time. A friend of mine actually ordered this and when I heard it I totally flipped! I have the first Leastways CD and like it, but this one is much better and I'm glad Alan has gone solo. What a great voice and the lyrics make you think about life and the importance of others in your life. Everyone out there, check this one out. We need to hear more from this artist. Alan Garr ? ?Run Over by the Wheels? ? Mmmmmm. This CD makes me want to head south just to hear Garr play live. How is it possible that this guy isn't getting mainstream, national airplay? These songs have a great sound--a somewhat bluesy but definitely folk-pop sensibility that draws you in and makes it easy to just skim the surface. Of course, this CD can stand up to more scrutiny than disposable pop songs, and attentive listeners will be rewarded with tight lyrics, poignant stories, rich imagery, and tunes that get under the skin. These are not happy tunes, but if the dark subject matter gets you down, you can always float along on Garr?s lush voice for a while.
