In Each Other's Heart

Story Behind The Song

With the increase in Wars around the World, and the United States INEVITABLE involvement with sending boots on the ground, I decided to write my first War song. I describe the expectations of leaving for War, from the male soldier's leaving his lover, to her despair of him leaving. Talk about heart breaking. The last Verse sums up the INEVITABLE result of War, in some soldier's and their lover's life!

Song Description

A man must leave his female love again, to go off to War. He commits to return, but fate steps in, and unfortunately has other plans. A true tear jerker in every sense of the word. I specifically wrote a Classical song, to put the lyrics to, in order to provide the musically drama, that the song demands. Listen carefully please, but be sure to have a tissue close by!

Lyrics

IN EACH OTHER'S HEART

VERSE ONE
THEY CRIED, THEY KISSED, MADE LOVE AND THEN,
THEY HAD TO SAY GOODBYE, AGAIN.
HER VOICE, JUST QUIVERED, WHEN SHE SPOKE OF WAR,
THAT'S WHAT HE WAS LEAVING FOR.
THOUGH THEY WOULDN'T BE TOGETHER, THEY'D NEVER BE APART,
FOR THEY'RE IN EACH, OTHER'S HEART.

BRIDGE
THEY'RE IN EACH OTHER'S HEART, THEY'RE IN EACH OTHER'S HEART, THAT'S WHY THEY NEVER WOULD BE APART.
HE TOOK RISKS AND SHE KNEW IT, AND THEY PRAYED
THEY'D GET THROUGH IT, THAT'S WHY THEY'D NEVER PART,
THEY'RE IN EACH OTHER'S HEART.

VERSE TWO
HE TOOK, HER HAND, HE MADE A VOW, PROMISED THAT HE'D RETURN, SOME HOW.
SHE SMILED, THEN SHE SAID, GO HELP OUR COUNTRY,
GOD WILL BRING YOU HOME TO ME.
THOUGH THEY WOULDN'T BE TOGETHER, THEY'D NEVER BE APART,
FOR THEY'RE IN EACH, OTHER'S HEART.

REPEAT CHORUS

SHE GOT, LETTERS, THEIR DESTINY, THE LAST ONE WAS FROM THE ARMY. THEY CALLED, HIM HERO, SAID SHE SHOULD BE PROUD.
SHE SAID ALL THESE WORDS OUTLOUD.
THOUGH WE'LL NEVER BE TOGETHER, WE'LL NEVER BE A PART,
FOR WE'RE IN EACH, OTHER'S HEART!
