Lyrics
V1
Take me down to the water, and take me down to the sand,
And show me where you keep your flying machines, it?s there I?m bound to land.
And show me where your champions sleep. It?s there I?ll lay me down,
For I long to be the pilot, the pilot of renown.
V2
My Daddy, he?s a pilot, ?taught me how to roll.
He?s showed me clouds of silver, and sunsets made of gold,
And when the day is over, we?ll find the way back home.
Yes, my Daddy, he?s the finest airman I have ever known.
(CHORUS)
And I long to be the pilot, the one who wins the day.
I long to be the master of where the Angels play.
And when my wings do falter, my friends will point the way.
Yes, I long to be the pilot, the one who wins the day.
(BRIDGE)
Let me fly, on wings strong and true.
Let me fly, send me way up in the blue.
Way on high, no place I?d rather be
Than in the company of Angels, where I am truly free.
V3
There are places where the spirit goes that words cannot describe.
Between the clouds and sunshine, where beauty finds your eye.
I hope someday I?ll meet you there; we?ll do a roll or two,
Where airplanes zoom and friendships bloom, together, me and you.
(REPEAT CHORUS)
