Felony

Story Behind The Song

I've recently parted ways with a loved one and this is the pouring out of my soul. It's self produced, written, and performed by yours truly.

Song Description

I pushed my vocals to a higher standard this time. I was trying to take a general pop ballad and give it an edgier sound with hard, stark beats and futuristic electronic sounds mixed with organic instruments as well. I love playing with genre boundaries.

Lyrics

1ST VERSE

I cant accept the blame
for the way i played your game.
The day you walked away,
all your rules became subject to change.
I hope you feel ashamed
for letting me feel this way.
It's you who walked away.
I cant believe, to you, its all the same.

PRE-CHORUS

We go back and forth
every now and then.
I'd walk out the door
and come back again.
I promise, this'll be the last time.
You dont love me anymore...
Baby, I can tell.
I think you should know
its been a living hell.
Its been too much to handle

CHORUS

I could cry think of the time wasted.
It should be a crime, baby....
doin' what youve done to me.
They should put you on trial,
make you do the time.
Maybe 25 to life.
It should be a felony.

2ND VERSE

I'd hoped you'd fade away,
like the smile that used to light my face.
I will never be the same...
broken in every possible way.

I'm reminded every day...
of the things I've lost and cant replace.
I hope it hurts to hear me say,
"my love for you will never change".

PRE-CHORUS

We go back and forth
every now and then.
I'd walk out the door
and come back again.
I promise, this'll be the last time.
You dont love me anymore...
Baby, I can tell.
I think you should know
its been a living hell.
Its been too much to handle

CHORUS

I could cry think of the time wasted.
It should be a crime, baby....
doin' what youve done to me.
They should put you on trial,
make you do the time.
Maybe 25 to life.
It should be a felony.
