This song was adapted for the Laguna Canyon Foundation in order to teach elementary school children about the adaptive behaviors of the wildlife in habitats in southern California. The song includes vocabulary words and science concepts required that meet

I have adapted oh just right for hunting my prey in the night.

With excellent hearing and keen eyesight and wings so silent when I fly,

RAP: Adaptation's the name of the game. For animals, plants... the goal's the same.

To survive in the habitat where we live... riparian, grassland or woodland.

So we spread my branches wide and low... to keep our roots moist and cool.

Verse 3 Hide, hide! said the lizards and rabbits, Predators are hungry, but we are adapted.

With camoflauge we blend right in with the colors of the trees and earth.

With a long bill to get nectar from a flower. That's my adaptation power.

The power helps the flower too. To get pollinated so it can produce.

I use the resources the Earth provides and share with my neighbors so can survive
