Born to professional jazz musicians in Northampton England. Began piano at age 4 and improvised because it was easier than scales.

I have very strong technical and scientific interests, and designed my own sequencers and samplers over 25 years ago and made my own Fairlight CMI.

Then did Postgraduate Diploma in Music Information Technology at City University, then went to work for Peter Gabriel to repair studio gear.
After meeting wife, I changed career to computer consultancy, and multimedia then became web designer in 1994 and web service provider in 1998. Music and the piano was relegated to a hobby.
In 1999 I emigrated to Budapest in Hungary, and found time to make more music with some amazing musicians and I play and jam in bars around the city.

Now I'm technology consultant for a social networking web software company, but playing and composing when I have time.

Bio

Born to professional jazz musicians in Northampton England. Started to play the piano at the age of 4 and never stopped improvising because it was easier than practising scales.

I have very strong technical and scientific interests, and inspired by Rick Wakeman, I bought a Polymoog, Minimoog, Prodigy and BBC Microcomputer in 1980 and within a year had written a program to sequence the minimoog.
Then I heard about the Fairlight, (remember that? Cost as much as a house!) and wanted one. So I decided to make my own version with the computer, and it worked very well.

This gave me an entry qualification to City University to do Postgraduate Diploma in Music Information Technology, and after graduating, I went to work for Peter Gabriel repairing Fairlights and other studio equipment.
Then met my (now ex) wife, and changed career into computer consultancy, graphic design and animation, typography and printing then became web designer in 1994 and web service provider in 1998. I did many different kinds of things, while music and the piano was relegated to become an absorbing hobby.
In 1999 I emigrated to Budapest in Hungary, and found time to make more music with some amazing musicians and I played and jammed in bars around the city.

Still living in Budapest, I am available for work using the many skills I have collected. Perhaps a solo career or writing library music and sound effects for TV and film. If you need a hand, get in touch!
