Andrew Magnuson - Bio

Born on January 7 in Jackson, Michigan, Andrew Magnuson began performing professionally at the age of 15. He eventually found himself at Michigan State University where his powerful songwriting style and dynamic stage persona quickly found a wide audience. There Andy formed The Others and began developing the driving rock and pop that would come to define his sound.

The Others became a staple on the college circuit and Andy spent his twenties in venues all over the Midwest. With a rotating rhythm section, they released two albums (Almost Home and Graphic Novel) to high critical acclaim.
A year or two later, Andrew returned to the Chicago stage with Mr. Peabody—a wildly popular Chicagoland band. He spent a few years entertaining the faithful at area clubs. But, Andy had begun writing again—with a more mature and nuanced viewpoint. He soon left the band to hit the studio..

To record his first solo effort, Andy assembled a band of some of the best players in Chicago. Then, with the basic tracks on tape, he took time out to build a home studio to complete the project. A few years latter, with the help of old friend Hugh Wygmans, The Art of Falling was complete.

The album combines powerful imagery and intense lyrics in a melodic, reflective mood. Showcasing Andrew's incredible voice, inventive guitar and keyboard work, and unerring rock sensibility, the album offers 12 tracks of the best hook-driven guitar rock anywhere.

Andrew has now returned to the Midwest circuit, and is currently playing to support the album in Chicago, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. With his new band The Heathens, he's on the road and will soon be at a venue near you!
