While echoing both the potency of At the Drive-in with musical intricacy landing somewhere between Jesus Lizard and Mr. Bungle, the material remains unpredictable while reaching further into pop territory than these acts. Each Vanities release has been produced and engineered by main songwriter/vocalist Rob Blake. With their "EP for the Lord," the band moves leaps and bounds further on their quest to bring loud, bracing and original guitar rock to the masses. Collectively weighing in at a wimpy 511 pounds, The Vanities feature Rob Blake on guitar and vocals, Joe Connell on bass, Joe Reilly fresh back from his duty in Kuwait- bleeding profusely on his guitar, and John Sancilio beating the ever living crap out of his drums like a human metronome on angel dust. They currently maintain their own amusing website (www.thevanities.net) and spend their days searching for a record label who desires to move millions of units by giving a home to a musical outfit that will come to define rock and roll in the new millennium.
