The Art Of Splitting

The Art Of Splitting is the debut full-length release from Radioactive X Girlfriend (RxGF), the brainchild of singer/songwriter John Morgan Reilly. The debut effort is an alternative rock haunt along memory lane based on true experiences of tortured love and psychopathy. Featured contributing musicians include New Zealand born and British singer-songwriter Daniel Bedingfield, Josh Greenberg (Ruby Doe), Matthew Burgess, and famed producer Jonathan Plum. The melodic 14 song debut is somewhere between neurotic and nostalgic with heavy pounding psycho-killer drumming, manic guitars, and a rumbling low-end augmented by vintage keyboards. Reilly musically expounds upon his past musical efforts with The Dehumanizers, System Seven, Mona Lisa Overdrive, Love Lies Bleeding, Famous Last Words, Limping For Sympathy, and Barista Suicide by writing and performing with an exciting new perspective on rock. With unique vocals and compelling, quirky twists and turns, the record itself combines a wide variety of cerebral textures and themes strangely reminiscent of Pink Floyd, Love Battery, Screaming Trees, King Crimson, and the Soft Boys while delivering the punch of modern rock ala Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures. The record was engineered by Jonathan Plum and produced by Jonathan Plum & John Morgan Reilly at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, WA and sonically is on par with some of the greatest records to ever emerge from Seattle. There is no shortage of creativity, energy, or aural neurosis as each song feeds your mind with lyrics that keep you looking over your shoulder.
