With piano-driven rock songs about bank robbers, relationships and one of the largest disasters in Colorado history, the Michael Lloyd Band is quickly gaining attention for its dynamic debut recording, the Highwaters EP. Independently released in September 2005, the new all-original EP builds on the energy of artists like Ben Folds and Dave Matthews Band while evoking the classic styles of Steely Dan and Bruce Hornsby. It's an adventurous rock sound steeped in funk, R&B and soul-jazz influences.
