bare bones it is. It's raw, delicate, fierce, naked, charging, emotional and all that we've come to expect from elaine k. You can hear it on every single song. You can't but be drawn into it and the emotions it will force you to feel - regularly against your own will. No-one wants to bask in the misery of love lost, but everyone wants to know they're not alone, and listening to this album, you'll never feel alone. Fans have said that elaine can write about all the things that are in your head and heart but that no-one ever admits to or sings about. Obvious examples are the opening line to Already Dead - "I have this unnerving desire to hurt you, to make you feel some of this pain" or how about the simplicity of the opening line to How Does It Feel? - "I wish I could make you take a polygraph" But in typical elaine k fashion, it's not all doom and gloom. She has a way of turning the human condition into a humorous condition, posessing the ability to laugh at oneself when possible. Take the journey.
