Tube-amps and Telecasters. Melodic, yet edgy songs, dealing with contemporary issues.

Bio

Tranquilla plays intense, melodic rock. Based out of Eagle River, Alaska, Tranquilla is the collaboration of long-time friends, J.J. Tranquilla, Sean Cobb, Dave Helzer, and Brian Wotring.
The members of Tranquilla have played together in various bands since the mid 1990's. In 2000, Sean Cobb formed 12 Records and in turn, an underground recording studio in Eagle River, Alaska. In the fall of 2005, Tranquilla was formed and began working on their debut album, October Forever.
October Forever turned into an artful, melodic-rock album that shines with catchy vocal lines and bright guitar melodies. A signature sound demonstrated in every song on the album.
After a summer of touring the state, and live radio performances, the band officially released October Forever in the fall of 2006. The album was mixed by Dennis Lind, and mastered by Bernie Grundman (Michael Jackson, Ani DiFranco, Alanis Morissette).
Following the release of, October Forever, Tranquilla began working with Howard Rosen Promotion, and their single, Burn It Down started to see national airplay. Also in early 2007, the band began work on a project for National Public Radio.
Tranquilla is currently getting through another dark, cold Alaskan winter, by starting work on their second album. The band continues to perform around Alaska and make excursions down south to play the "lower 48". Tranquilla is planning a tour of Canada and the Western US for the fall of 2008.
