Songwriters Sam Gaidemak and Michael Goldstein have been collaborating for 10 years, and have created a song catalog of over 100 pieces. Gaidemak's focus is primarily lyrical-- he is also a writer whose work has been featured in various literary magazines. Goldstein, who studied at the Eastman School of Music, functions mainly as arranger and melodist. Together, they comprise a formidable musical pair known as the thinkMusic Project.

In 1994, Gaidemak and Goldstein formed the power pop alterna-band "Ethel", which generated a significant buzz in the Northeast college radio market. Since "Ethel"'s parting in 1998, Gaidemak and Goldstein have continued to add to their catalog, refining their approach from writing power pop singles to crafting songs that would feel at home in several musical genres.
