WhytHouse is the brainchild of Kevin Perkins (a.k.a. Phatkat) and Chris Hale(a.k.a. Plex) who hail from Kitchener, Ontario. It all started in 2001 when Kevin (whose studio is located in a white house) and Chris decided to get down to business and create their vision of Urban Pop.
Taking no prisoners they established their productions as “Urban-Pop”, refusing to compromise to the norm. Fusing the sounds of pop, reggae, jazz, soul, r&b and hip-hop their music is best described as party vibes with positive lyrics.
The WhytHouse line-up was completed in 2002 when the addition of Shelley-Ann Cowan (a.k.a Scarlette) and Steve Mcelrea (a.k.a. Ste-V) gave the boys the vocal dimensions they were seeking for the project.
The group has performed across Canada, sharing the stage with such urban notables as Remy Shand, Shawn Desman, Keisha Chante, Choclair, Maestro and De La Soul. They have also done numerous festivals and charity events.
