I chose the Swan as a fun, symbolic reference to myself, John D. McDonald. Everything about a downtrodden underdog is the life story of myself. In particular to this hobby of mine, I have had many people tell me I am tone deaf. From listening to my old teenage recordings, others politely tell me I have no musical talent. Although it is embarrassing to admit I'm an obvious musical handicap, I believe I have a fascinating "blind" talent for orchestrating harmonies and countermelodies especially with the role of percussion. What the music is all about begins with the appeal to Dancing/Nightclubbing due to the tight, steady pulse of the drums like the Hip-Hop and Rap music scene I work with. Much of the piano and strings come from the epic sensibilities of the Backstreet Boys latest album Never Gone. This is all downplayed for easy accessibility via Grunge presentations with regards to Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins. For lack of a better evolutionary term, I think the Swan is ideal.
