The Rotation is an energetic seven piece band playing an array of instruments, all living in the Madison Area. Being close friends and drinking buddies over the years, they would eventually form The Rotation in 2009.

With years of professional music experience, they bring a wide range of styles which create their unique sound termed Sax Rock. They are influenced by many genres such as rock, ska, reggae and R&B.

Enough music to please any crowd, The Rotation plays a variety of lyrically progressed originals as well as covers from Reel Big Fish and Sublime to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They perform at numerous venues including weddings, receptions, and conferences, as well as festivals such as Milwaukee's Summerfest and Madison's Bratfest.

Thanks for reviewing Red Dress. It's my belief, and I'm not alone in this, that not every song needs a "hook". One of the really cool aspects of living in Nashville is that every once in a while you run into some successful, well-known writers at writer's nights. It's possible, by keeping your eyes and ears open, to gain considerable insight into writing and the music biz in general.
I believe that a song is a conversation, and that when I'm done speaking my part, I stop talking. This method doesn't always include a "hook".
The line " a warning label, should be part of the design, nothing safe could ever look so fine" works in this respect. It was also inspired by a real life experience.
On another note, I see that you're from Madison, WI. I'm a "cheesehead", born in Portage, raised on a farm outside of Rio. I've traveled around the country a bit, and my fellow Wisconsinites are still my favorite people. Know any good Ollie and Sven jokes?
