You might say that The Chinch Bugs are weird. How many power pop bands have an oboe player and a singing drummer?

The Chinch Bugs, consisting of three girls and one guy, were formed in the fall of 2003. All four were members of The Sandwiches, a successful theatrical pop band from the 1990’s. “We obviously missed each other's company”, says drummer Jimmy Sexton. “So those of us that remained in Minneapolis got together again, jammed, and haven’t stopped in three years.”

The Chinch Bugs’ music has been compared to They Might Be Giants, The Monkees, and The B-52s among others… definitely some sort of quirky pop rock.

As long as there is a need for catchy hook-filled tunes with clever word play, The Chinch Bugs will live on!
