I took up music at an early age playing recorder at school in Shetland were I was born. I soon gave that up and when, in the mid 80s, my family and I moved to Dover I started playing the guitar. First learning classical guitar but after a while realizing that it was the electric guitar that was really going to be my instrument.

When I was about 14 I started up my first band (duo really). I sang and played guitar and my band mate programmed and played keyboards. It was The Cure meets Nine Inch Nails (nearly). After spending a few years gigging around Oxford, where I was now living, I decided I would like to take a deeper look into the technical side of making music.

In the mid 90s I studied sound engineering, first at Hurricane Studios, and then at SAE, both in London. Soon afterwards I managed to secure a position as a runner at the Dairy http://www.broadjam.com/artistedit/images/but_continue2.gifStudios in London. I worked my way to being assistant engineer before circumstance forced me to move back to Oxford.

In 2001 I moved to Northampton, bought myself a Mac and Pro Tools Digi001 and got writing. I am constantly trying to improve my production and writing skills and have since qualified as a Digidesign Pro Tools Operator. Finally I felt I was in a position where my music was ready for the general public.
