Switchgrass is an eclectic mix of music and individuals. Lead singer Ray Attley is a musician, writer, photographer who loves things that have more than one meaning. His writing style is purposely textured, burying the intent of a song beneath fine tuned imagery and symbolism. Each listener should find their own meaning based on
their own
perceptions.
Chris White Thunder hails from one of the Sioux reservations dotted across the South Dakota landscape. He began playing the guitar when he was 8 years old. This became his escape. When he was 12, he watched Stevie Ray Vaughn on Austin City Limits. He realized that this was exactly how he felt. The blues gave him a positive
form of
escapism.
