Spiral Staircase Music is a songwriting, composition and production duo. Carel Cronje and Cornell Boshoff met in October 1993 and formed a band, but decided in 1997 to concentrate on studio work. Since then they have effectively been running the whole gamut of musical activities. Carel's work encompasses principal songwriting, vocals (when required), engineering and production; Cornell, a music technology specialist, takes care of composition and arrangement with an arsenal of both vintage and cutting-edge equipment. In their project studio to date, they have produced several Documentary scores, a jingle set for a radio station, numerous pieces for television and cinema advertising campaigns and have written, arranged and produced six successful albums for prominent local South African artists. Joining Broadjam and Taxi are their first major steps towards taking their music and musical versatility into a much wider world!
