Story Behind The Song

I had just completed this piece when I received an invitation to make a submission to the SongofthYear contest. The work was entered and landed within the top 5 in its category...making it worthy of its title.

Song Description

This is one of many compositions which comprise a medley of small melodies strung together. Sometimes there is a theme which is repeated, sometimes not. Usually the segue between the discrete parts is smooth but sometimes not. I like to think that my compositions evoke images and the titles I supply are often generated by those images. This particular song was entered into the SongoftheYear competition and landed within the top 5 in its category...my aspirations for an "Honourable Mention" were acknowledged.
