She Don't Know Lonely

Story Behind The Song

My father was very close to his mother. She had alzhiemers and was in the final stages. Dad called her and often picked her up for church on sundays if she was feeling up to it. He always called to see how she was and to let her know that he loved her. She passed away on sunday morning and they called dad to let him know. He knew she was finally going home to heaven. He missed her badly, but was content on knowing she was finally going where she'd have no more pain. She was in heaven now where no alzhiemers could bother her body or her memory cause she don't know lonely.

Lyrics

On Sunday he thought he would tell her
When her alzhiemers kicked in again
So he called her and told her I love you
And that day his heartache began
Cause

Chorus
She don't know lonely
And she never will
While each day grows longer and longer until
He sits there alone and picks up the phone
And hears her on the other end
And he knows he'll never see her again
And she don't know lonely

Later that evening dad called me
Said son we have some news
My momma has passed on to heaven
And we thought that we should call you
Now..

CH

Last night he knelt by his bedside
And he bowed his head to pray
He said father I know that she's with you
And has been since she passed away

And she don't know lonely
And she never will
And each day I'm stronger and stronger and still
I kneel here alone and pray to your throne
And I know you're on the other end
And someday I'll see her again
Cause she don't know lonely
Cause she don't know lonely
