Smokey Gripp (pictured, far left) is one of the real veterans of the Hip-Hop game. He's been laying it down since 1986 and saying things other rappers were afraid to say long before Eminem made it mainstream. He cant be put into a box because he's one of the few emcees who can spit pure underground fire on one track and then turn around and take on any subject on another. If youre looking for the best way to describe it, think Public Enemy crossed with Redman with a twist of the Wu-Tang Clan. An East Coast native, he continues to lay it down for everybody in Pittsburgh, PA in the traditional East Coast grimy fashion.
