Very very highly energetic band who blasts the catchy anthems. With a live performance that will bring you out of a coma and songs that will be remembered by people who speak a different language, this band is gonna make you listen. A good mix of punk, power pop and good old fashioned rock and roll, Sixteenth Avenue, though young, is a respected band whether they play for teeny boppers, or the industry. A girl that interviewed the likes of Yellowcard and Sum 41 once said "I am surprised at these guys talent and understanding of music, because of their age. They are from Port City, NB, but there is that upbeat California feel with some New Jersey. I wouldn't be surprised to hear from Sixteenth Avenue in the near future." (www.purevolume.com/16thavenue)

Bio

Adam and Chris had a band, Check Point, things weren’t working as well as planned when their dreams got bigger. Wanting better, they decided to give call to a guitarist and singer from another local punk band. Evidently enough, this guitarist wanted more from his band too. On one beautiful March Break day, Joel Rathje Cochrane, yes, his middle name is Rathje, ended up at Chris’s house for what would go down in history as the birth of Sixteenth Avenue. Though, they remained Check Point for the time being, it was still the birth of Sixteenth Avenue. Introduced to the bar scene after recording an 8 song demo, they were laughed at everywhere. No one cared for Blink 182 wannabes. After the bar show "phase", the guys decided to play for audiences who somewhat appreciated the music.
When the opportunity arose to record a 5 song EP in Fredericton at an actual studio for free, the guys jumped at the opportunity. After the release of this EP, the guys started to get more local shows with kids, not 40 year old raging alcoholics who shout out "AC/DC" every two minutes. This is when the label was dropped.
Sixteenth Avenue, with an extremely high energy show and infectiously contagious songs, will have your respect and you singing their songs whether you like it or not. Peace
