Named for Revelations 6:8, the coming of the Apocalypse, this metal ensemble from coastal North Carolina seeks to bring relief to - if not an end to - watered-down radio rock. Six:8 draws from an eclectic range of influences to produce a sound that is definitively heavy, yet broadly listenable. Lead guitarist "War" is primarily influenced by power-metal artists such as Zakk Wylde, Dimebag Darrell, and James Hetfield. Drummer "Famine" draws inspiration from Dave Grohl as well a collection of post-grunge rock artists. "Pestilence", the bassist and oldest member, cites Dave Ellefson, Duff McKagan and Robert DeLeo as primary influences. Vocalist "Apocalypse" credits Psychopathic Records as well as new Metal artists such as Corey Taylor for his influence. The band is currently working with Josiah Tubbs on rhythm guitar - who brings a style primarily crafted by Randy Rhodes with nods to chord-rockers such as Slash and Joe Perry.
