Rykarda Parasol hails from San Francisco, but has seen the world. Like any traveling bard, she has stories to tell, using her gender-bending vocals to weave tales of identity, experience and adventure.
Rykarda has been the captain of her own musical path, writing and self-producing three critically acclaimed full albums; from lyrics to voice and instrumentation to creating her album art. Although her style is electric ranging from American to French-pop influences, Parasol's work is most often compared to the likes of Nick Cave, Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen - she is a storyteller of the highest caliber.
Parasol has found success in Central Europe performing in Germany, Austria, Poland, and Croatia and Serbia frequently. She calls Paris her second home.
Parasol describes her own dusky sound as "Rock Noir", which much like Film Noir, is stylishly dramatic, steeped in cynicism and phychological motivation with unpredictable shadows.
