Rusty Eye: a corroded perception
"Rusty Eye has created a distinct sound that fascinates the audience with their virtuoso musicianship and wildly unpredictable playing."
Ken Morton, editor Highwire Daze Magazine
"Staying true to an enduring, uncompromising vision that stands out amidst other acts."
Charlie Steffens, Hails & Horns Magazine
"Hearing their science-defying fusion of styles 'n' genres is like bearing witness to alchemy; staggering and unforgettable. This isn't just music people - it's goddam wizardry!"
Zero Tolerance Magazine, editor Calum Harvie
"... this thrash/progressive power trio is gaining recognition as a serious act, not just some band with a hot-looking chick drummer."
Metal Edge Magazine
"Rusty Eye reminded me of the very first time I had heard Marilyn Manson, not that these bands sound at all alike but in that I knew I was hearing something very different, something that could find a nice home in a few thousand black adolescent hearts."
Tartarean Desire, John Boden
Rusty Eye is an independent Hollywood-based metal band eclectic blend of various Heavy Metal styles, influenced by Horror films.
It was born in 1995 in the cradle of the exotic and tumultuous Mexico City. After years of being part of their metal scene, Rusty Eye (also U.S. citizens) relocated to Hollywood, CA in 2004.
Arduous dedication to their craft resulted in being nominated on Music Connection's Music Industry "Top 100 unsigned bands of 2006". They finished their first professional music video (directed, co-produced and financed by the horror enthusiast cinematographer: Alejandro Ordonez) to the award-winning song "Mr. Cannibal" (Best Metal Single, LA Music Awards 2006). Other awards include: Best Male Bass Player 2006 and Best Female Drummer 2005 (by LA Magazine "Rock City News"), having Miss Randall reach the semi-finals at NAMM 2007 "World's Fastest Drummer Competition" reaching 728 double kick hits in in 60 seconds.
To this date, Rusty Eye has produced 4 U.S. releases (Stendhal Syndrome, Live at the Joint, Cryogenic EP, and Rust N' Roll), in addition to 12 foreign independent demo releases (soon to be re-issued via the band's own Epoche Records). Their new album Possessor was just released summer of 2009.
The power trio is comprised by main founder "Mr Rust" (bass/vocals), female member "Miss Randall" (drums/vocals/production), and guitarist Baron Murtland.
To this date Rusty Eye has played non-stop in and around the vicinities of Mexico City and Los Angeles, delivering a unique brand of music that captivates a broad range of listeners (who simply enjoy Heavy Metal in all its extent). Rusty Eye has shared stages with artist such as: DORO, Billy Sheehan, John Corabi, Chris Holmes (WASP), Moonspell, Katatonia, Vixen, Veins of Jenna, Depswa, and more.
Music is available at the band's shows and in multiple popular stores such as: iTunes, CdBaby (Super D One-stop International Distributors), Napster, Rhapsody, Rock Shop Mexico City, Amoeba Records Hollywood.
