Unique, eclectic blend of 60's rock, Beatles, with a Cole Porter, 1930's sensibility, humor and sophistication. (Love the ukulele!)

I gravitate toward marketing and pitching songs for films, television, commercials and related media. I look to the success of Jon Brion, I Heart Huckabees, Mark Mothersbaugh, The Royal Tenenbaums, the great Randy Newman, Danny Elfman, the music in Scrubs, O.C., Grey's Anatomy. I find some of the best music today can only be heard in commercials, television, and films. Not on Pop Radio. Hey, Iggy is doing a Cadillac commercial and, of course, Carnival Cruise Lines.

Short Bio

I spent my formative years in the Ann Arbor, Michigan counter-culture music scene, playing in punk bands on venues with the MC5, Iggy Pop, the Up and the Frost. In continuing to evolve, my professional career has taken me to Europe on several occasions, doing club tours, residing in Oslo, Norway for a year and residing, writing and recording at a studio retreat in Southern Italy. On return to the U.S., I moved to L.A. on two occasions to shop my music and I moonlighted as a lighting tech. I worked for Theater Vision Inc. (TVI) in North Hollywood doing location, film and movie premiers. Throughout the 1980's I continued to write and perform and work behind the scene as a tech on several national tours. I was a guitar tech for John Mellencamp, known at that time as Johnny Cougar and the Zone. I also worked as a crew member for Fantasee Lighting Inc., as a lighting tech, doing national tours with REO Speedwagon, the Babys, the Ramones, the Kinks, to name only a few.

Throughout the 90's I was working in a very popular local band, "The Bashers", a.k.a." the Beach Bashers". The band was formed in 1983 in beautiful Grand Haven, Michigan. I joined the band in 1992. The Bashers enjoyed a large
local following and got some airplay on local stations. We primarily played summer festivals,
opening for national touring acts, performing for crowds in excess of 20,00, including the Muskegon Summer Celebration and the Traverse
City Cherry Festival.

I continue to be involved in the technical field (gotta make a living). I work for CAE Inc., located in Hamburg Michigan. CAE evolved from Grand Funk Railroad's touring crew, after the band stopped touring. CAE designs and manufactures lighting control boards and related lighting products for the performing arts. I am also involved in writing and recording multi media demos with Ivan Kral (Patti Smith group and Iggy Pop) for the Detroit NBC affiliate WDIV.

On a personal note: a few years ago my sweet, beautiful wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. I stopped performing to help her in her treatment and recovery. This incredibly emotional and eye-opening experience awoke in me a creative outpouring and a renewed desire and determination to succeed. Life is short and unpredictable, so I am having one last crack at my musical aspirations.

I have a 24 track studio in my backyard, a beautiful garden paradise where I paint, create, write and record. In addition to music and art, I also enjoy gardening and interior design.

I continue to have a passion for keeping up with and discovering new music. My influences are eclectic. Beatles, Byrds, Searchers, Wilco, Pete Yorn, Guided by Voices, Honey Dogs, The Blasters, Jayhawks, Squeeze, Split Enz, Crowded House, Marlene Dietrich, Chaplin, 1920's jazz, musette, Celtic, gypsy, and more.
